We shot this at Horne Creek Farm and Duke Homestead in July 2006, and if I can pick only one, it is my favorite of the projects I've worked on to date. Josh had already been working on this film for four years when I signed on, between other projects and his duties at Duke University, and shot much more of the final film than I did, but I'm very proud of the work I did on it, of which this set of recreations is a large part.
Josh is a very good DP himself, so I was particularly pleased that he chose me when he wanted to concentrate more on direction. I've been on several other shoots with him since then, to Mt. Airy, NC, the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin, and to Coney Island, and at this point I'm reluctant to say anything about the project, as I don't think I can do justice either to its scope or to my hopes for it. Josh and Shambhavi (who is editing it) are wonderful people to work with, the only consolation in finishing this project is that it opens up the prospect of another one
"Siamese Connection" has been selected by the Full Frame, The Riverrun, and the Heart of England Film Festivals to date.
